The chairman of the coalition, Shuaibu Bilayabu, said since 1999 nobody from the senatorial district had been made a minister.
He said the senatorial district had rich cultural heritage, vibrant communities and untapped potential, stressing that it deserved representation at the highest level of government. He said, “Despite the countless contributions we have made to the development and progress of our great nation, we have been overlooked and neglected in the allocation of ministerial positions. It is an undeniable fact that Gombe State, since the restoration of democracy in 1999, has witnessed the emergence of more than eight ministers as well as heads of ministries, departments and agencies.
