The Governing Board of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State, on Tuesday, approved the removal of Dr Emmanuel Moyinjesu as the acting provost of the institution.
Moyinjesu was removed by the supervisory body of the institution, the Agriculture Research Council of Nigeria, and replaced by the Head of the Department of Animal Health and Production, Dr Albert Fadiyimu.
Not satisfied with the development, members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, FECA chapter, on Monday staged a protest against the decision of the ARCN. Speaking with journalists on the development, the spokesman for the FECA Governing Board, Benson Enikuomehin, said the sacking of the former acting provost was in order.
Enikuomehin stated, “As a member of the governing board, I have the authority of the chairman of the board to speak on the matter. The immediate acting provost of the institution committed a number of infractions.
