Gov’t docility in rising cases of kidnapping
The Nigerian Army gallantly broke the news of successfully rescuing Sheikh Ahmad Suleiman, a renowned Kano based Islamic Cleric who was kidnapped alongside five others in Katsina for 15 days. Three hundred million naira was initially demanded from the kidnappers as ransom, the amount they later brought down to thirty million naira. While they further dished out images to convince people on his safe release, the Nigerian Army was economical with details of whether ransom was paid or not.
