Gov’ship Polls: INEC Alerts Public On Fake Election Security ID Card 2023Elections Inec
For clarity purposes, the Commission said that the identity card did not emanate from the Commission, adding that identity cards for security personnel on election duty were issued by relevant security agencies and not the Commission.
INEC raised the alarm in a statement titled: Fake Identity Card for Security Personnel on Election Duty’ issued by the national commissioner and chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Barr. Festus Okoye, in Abuja on Friday. Okoye said anyone bearing an identity card allegedly issued by the Commission for security personnel can only be on illegal duty.“The public is alerted to this diabolical action of some misdirected elements and to report any such persons to the security agencies,” he added.
