The Abia State governor, Alex Otti, approved on Monday the appointment of Mrs Chidinma Martha Ndukwe as the acting rector of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.
His appointment followed the earlier approval of the governor that the most senior civil servants should take over the leadership of the institution.
The approval was contained in a statement issued on Monday by Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Abia State. Others appointed to take over the leadership of their respective institutions in acting capacity are Barrister Nkwo Victor O’Brien, Secondary Education Management Board ; Mr Ukaegbu Peacebee, Abia State Board of Internal Revenue Service; and Pst. Uka Ndu Igwe, Abia State Community and Social Development Agency .
The statement added: “Those affected by this directive should adhere strictly and avoid actions that could cause disruption of government activities in the aforementioned institutions.”
