The Gombe State governorship candidate of Action Alliance, Brig-Gen Nuhu Miller (retd.), has lamented that most children in the state's rural areas study under trees in 2023, promising that he would equip schools if elected.

“Gombe is the jewel in the savannah, which means Gombe should be able to feed the nation but unfortunately, we are not making use of it and we have to improve agriculture in the state. In the villages where they are farming, there are no roads we will make sure there are rural roads and rural infrastructure such as Electricity, Water go to the rural areas.

“In the health sector, in each of the 11 Local Government Areas there must be hospitals fully standard with all doctors, nurses, and equipment there will be a dispensary to serve women in labour in a village.” Speaking about the reason for low voter turnout in the state, the governorship candidate ascribed the reason to failed promises, and a dwindling economy, stressing that he would change the situation of things in the state.

“People feel depressed that there has not been a change but we are promising them that there is going to be changed we are here for the change. “The masses will tell you that there are a lot of ill feelings they are not happy that was the reason for the low turnout,” Miller added. All rights reserved.
