The Gombe State government has instituted a compulsory monthly sanitation exercise to enhance environmental cleanliness and sustainability in the state. Governor Inuwa Yahaya approved the exercise to be held every last Saturday of the month, with the first session scheduled for April.
Mohammed Fawu, the Commissioner for Water, Environment, and Forest Resources, stated in a memo on Tuesday the importance of the exercise and encouraged residents to take advantage of this opportunity to clean up their environment. “In line with this administration’s resolve to ensure the provision of a sustainable and healthy environment for human habitation, Gov. Yahaya has approved the conduct of a monthly general environmental sanitation exercise in the state.
findings indicated that the state government has also recently constructed waste collection points in various communities within the metropolis and suburbs to improve waste management efficiency.
