The president and founder of the House of Politics nationwide, Alhaja Aminat Irawo, has called on
the National Assembly to honour late Alhaja Kudirat Abiola with a posthumours award. Kudirat is the wife of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 12 1993 presidential election who was posthumously recognised by incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari by declaring June 12 as Democracy Day.
Alhaja Irawo also called on the National Assembly henceforth, officially refer to late Abiola as former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She said late Alhaja Kudirat Abiola should be recognised because she fought for the actualisation of an“Former military administrator of Lagos state, Brigadier Buba Marwa invited the late Kudirat Abiola for a meeting at Alausa on the day she was killed along Oregun road on June 4, 1996. I advised her not to go but she insisted on attending the meeting with Marwa because she was ardent in her fight for the masses. She died for democracy.
