An employee of a multidimensional service-providing German company, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Nigeria has raised an alarm over how the company’s team lead in Nigeria, Vermuijten Sandra, has allegedly been bullying and unprofessionally sacking workers for over three years.
A staff member of the company who wrote to the Human Resources Unit of the company demanding an investigation into Sandra’s activities said that the team leader of the company’s Programme 'Migration for Development' in Nigeria had been bullying and indiscriminately laying off staff unprofessionally since she assumed office in 2019.
Although some of the staff were found Wanting, however, I called on the GIZ management to look into the Leadership style of the team lead for this laudable program that is bringing high benefit to Nigerians. “I have witnessed her subtle bullying, using subordinates to manipulate senior colleagues, public displays of harassment of colleagues, and subtle victimization.
