The President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will next Thursday be conferred with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) while the Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima will be conferred with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) by President Muhammadu Buhari.   The investiture of the two highest national honours on the in-coming leaders is part of the Presidential Inauguration programme of events, according to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Transition Council (PTC), Mr Boss Mustapha.   Mustapha said the theme of the inauguration of the 16th President and Vice President is: “Nigeria: Better together”.   Mustapha, who described the upcoming event as historically significant to the country and the international community, particularly Africa because of the democratic values and lessons in nationhood, also gave a breakdown of events, starting with the unveiling of programme of activities…

Mustapha said the theme of the inauguration of the 16th President and Vice President is: “Nigeria: Better together”. “All events will be broadcast live on all major stations and streamed on various social media platforms. Detailed information including accreditation arrangements, would be provided by the Media and Publicity sub-Committee.
