Athletes from around the globe are expected to storm the ancient city of Kano on December 4th, for the maiden edition of 2021 Kano International Marathon.
The former Chairman, Nigeria Football Federation and current chairman Kano State Sports Commission,Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima made the disclosure at the inauguration of 13-man organising committee in Kano on Wednesday.
“We are going to provide support and logistics, but finances and other sponsorship will come from the company and its allies within and outside the country. In his remarks, the Coordinator, North for Bunu Bunu Sporting Culture company, Abdurrasheed Sale Machika, who is also the Chairman, Organizing Committee, said their decision to come to Kano was because of the position it occupies in history and culture of not only northern Nigeria, but west Africa as a whole.
“It is based on their assessment that the decision will be reached on whether to hold half or full marathon which is 21KM or 42KM respectively”.
