Students of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest around Ikole community over the epileptic electricity supply by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company.
reports that no fewer than 100 students were sighted wielding placards with various inscriptions and singing solidarity songs.
Some of the students, in an interview with NAN, decried the persistent outage in the area in the last couple of months. She said that the students had been paying to charge their phones and laptops in order to carry out academic assignments. He appealed to the management of the university to intervene and restore electricity back to the campus community in Ikole.
