The Nation Newspaper FULL LIST: Jail term, fine other consequences for mutilation, abuse of naira notes
The mutilation and careless handling of Naira notes is indeed a serious infraction that not only affects the economy but poses a health risk.
It is believed that the National Orientation Agency is supposed to facilitate sensitisation or awareness programmes on the responsible use of the naira.The EFCC invited the 31-year old following a video report of spraying and flaunting wads of new Naira notes at the premiere of a movie, Ajakaju, produced by Eniola Ajao at Film One Circle Mall, Lekki, Lagos on March 24.
According to CBN, any person who tampers with the Naira note or coin is guilty of an offence, punishable by law .
