The Akwa Ibom State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, on Thursday, flagged off its 2023 ember months campaign to enlighten motorists on the dangers of flouting traffic rules, especially during the yuletide. The FRSC Corps Marshall, Mr.
Dauda Biu, speaking at the event held in Itam short-distance motor park in Uyo, the state capital, warned against overloading and overspeeding, noting that commercial drivers who are always culpable of such should desist forthwith as such put the lives and belongings of passengers at risk.
According to him, 'The Corps, being aware of the incessant crashes chronicled in the ember months, usually orchestrated by the recalcitrant attitude of some road users during the period, deploys This awareness strategy to enlighten the motoring public on the destructive consequences of road traffic crashes to enable the achievement of FRSC 2023 Corporate Strategic Goal of 5% reduction in road traffic Deaths and Injuries.
