FRSC confirms death of three in road accident
The Edo Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps , Mr. Henry Benamaisia has confirmed the death of three persons in an accident that occurred at Egba junction along Benin–Auchi highway.A survivor of the accident who gave her name as Best said five persons from Udeni Community, Uhunmwode Local Government Area died in the accident.
She said they were returning from a funeral ceremony of an in-law to one of the community leader in Benin City. Best said four were burnt to death while another victim simply identified as Jerry died at the Hospital on Sunday. According to her, “We were heading home along Egba junction when one saloon car crossed the path of our 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus.
“In an attempt to avoid hitting the vehicle, our driver lost control and hit the pavement divider on the road and in the process, our bus fell and burst into flame. “
