Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has revealed that cases of influenza A, a dangerous strain of influenza, has jumped from 1848 cases last week to 4282 cases this week, suggesting the numbers were surging.
Graphs at Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s press conference show the sharp rise in flu cases in Queensland in the first half of 2022.“It is serious and we don’t want to see people ending up in our hospitals when you can take a preventative step and get the vaccine,” she said. Ms Palaszczuk urged everyone to came forward to get a jab as soon as possible, despite acknowledging people may have “vaccine fatigue” from the push to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
