No fewer than four persons have been reportedly killed in a fresh tribal conflict in Taraba State, North-East, Nigeria. SaharaReporters learnt that the clash was between Jukun and Tiv youths who took arms against each other in a violent clash on Monday, leading to the death of four persons at Sokundi village in the Wukari Local Government Area of the state.

An eyewitness, Iliasu Mairiga, who escaped death by the whiskers informed SaharaReporters that the armed youths, suspected to be of Tiv tribe attacked him and others. Another witness, Zuza Audu Kuta, shared the pains of losing his younger brother in the conflict, saying,"He was the last born of our family but they have killed him. We are urging the authorities to find lasting solution to tribal conflicts in our state."

While confirming the incident, spokesperson for the Taraba State Police Command, SP Usman Abdullahi Jada, said,"It was reported to the police that four young men from Sokundi were attacked by some youths at Bakin-Rijiya; two were killed and the rest escaped unhurt.
