The Nation Newspaper Foundation strengthens varsity’s admin backbone with modern complex
main campus in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. The facility houses key administrative units, improves coordination, operational efficiency, and service delivery in the institution. The project addresses the need for adequate institutional infrastructure in higher education, where universities face demand for quality learning environments amid capacity constraints.
By strengthening OOU’s administrative backbone, the foundation is supporting systems that enable effective governance, improved student services, and enhanced academic outcomes. Spokesperson, Mrs. Yewande Giwa, noted that the intervention is a deliberate commitment to building resilient institutions as a pathway to national development.
“The foundation recognises that educational excellence depends on strength of the systems and structures that support teaching, learning, and research. This administrative building reflects our belief that a great university is powered not only by its academic output, but also by the quality of its governance, coordination, and student-facing services.
” “By reinforcing the institutional framework that enables innovation and effective learning, we are advancing our pillars of education and entrepreneurship, and strengthening systems that will shape future leaders, build resilient enterprises, and drive sustainable progress for years to come. ”In his remarks, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the OOU Governing Council, Prof. Toyin Ashiru, described the project as a landmark contribution to the university’s continued growth and transformation.
“The Oba Otudeko Administrative Building stands as both a functional and symbolic milestone in our institutional journey. It directly addresses one of our most pressing challenges – the shortage of adequate office space – while enhancing operational efficiency, staff productivity, and service delivery to our students and stakeholders. Dr. Oba Otudeko’s longstanding commitment to education continues to create meaningful impact, reinforcing a legacy that has supported the progress of this University for decades.
” The new complex forms part of a broader portfolio of education-focused investments championed by the Chairman of Honeywell Group, Dr. Oba Otudeko, whose longstanding commitment to human capital development continues to advance institutional capacity across Nigeria.
