A United States-based charity group, Kedrick Scribner Foundation, and a cleric, Daniel Nuhu, have asked the Federal Government to set up a trust fund to empower widows of policemen in the country.

Speaking at the programme themed, ‘The widow’s mite,’ Nuhu appealed to the government to give special attention to the wives of fallen heroes of the Nigeria Police Force. He said, “I want to plead with the Nigerian Government on behalf of these widows because some of them don’t have work to do and no business to do. They should see to their plights and help the widows with funds to have businesses or handiwork to do.

“The government has done well because I met many people that received funds from the government to start up their businesses. So, if there is going to be any assistance to people, there should be a special one for widows of the Nigeria Police Force because it will be a blessing to them.” Also speaking at the programme, the founder of KSF, Kedrick Scribner, said, “The foundation was established to assist communities with food, clothing, and access to medication. I saw the needs of the widows and I have been told so much about them, so I want to see it for myself.”All rights reserved.
