Former Cross River State House of Assembly Speaker in the 8th Assembly, John Gaul Lebo, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. This was disclosed in a resignation letter signed by him on May 10, 2024, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of PDP, Adadama Council Ward, Adadama, Abi Local Council of the state.

SIMILARLY, the immediate past Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, has explained why he defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress .
