‘For efficiency’ — Kaduna sets up committee to review agencies’ performance | TheCable

Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has set up a committee to review the performance of all government parastatals in the stateOn Monday, Muhammad Shehu, chief press secretary to the governor, announced the decision, noting that the move is aimed at ensuring that government agencies operate at the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.

Shehu said the committee, which will be chaired by Hadiza Balarabe, the deputy governor, has three weeks to submit its report. Other members are ​Sani Liman​​, the ​​​chief of staff to the governor, Habiba Shekarau​, head of the service; and ​Muhammad Bayero, ​senior advisor-counsellor, among others.Shehu added that the findings will help the government to identify areas where the agencies can improve their service delivery and meet the needs of the citizens.

“It will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive analysis and appraisal of all state government parastatals to assess their performance, identify areas of improvement, and make recommendations where necessary,” he said. “The committee has the mandate to assess the complete records of the heads of the parastatals in terms of their qualifications and experience.“Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the performance of the parastatals based on their functions and make recommendations on each. The committee will also ​make recommendations that will enhance the proper functions of the parastatals.”
