The Labour Party (LP) has said that for cultural and political reasons, its vice presidential candidate would not debate with elder statesman and Noble

A statement from the campaign council said like many Nigerians, they were bewildered by the late hour intervention of their respected Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, in issues around what they described as flawed 2023 elections.

“We state therefore that the vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed cannot take up Prof Soyinka’s offer of a public debate, not out of cowardice, but for cultural and political reasons, “ the party said.
