JOHOR BARU: The flood situation in Johor is improving with only two districts - Batu Pahat and Mersing still flooded as of 2pm on Friday (Feb 3).
The number of flood victims at the two districts had also declined to 897 people from 255 families from 924 people from 263 families.
"One more temporary relief centre was closed bringing the total of the operating centres to seven from eight," said the State Disaster Management Committee. It said only one river – Sungai Batu Pahat in Bekok, Batu Pahat still at 18.82m which already passed the dangerous level of 18.70m. Two roads - Jalan Tanah Abang in Mersing and Jalan Sungai Tiram-Ulu Tebrau, Kulai remain closed for all vehicles due to rising water level and landslides along the routes respectively.
