Sequel to the flood disaster that claimed wrecked havoc in some in Suleja local government area of Niger State, the governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has ordered immediate demolition of structures built on water-ways in major towns in the State.

Available record however indicates that nine persons are still missing, with seven injured ,while a total of 431 houses including a school and a place of worship were badly affected. They will come out to identify houses sitting on water channels and afterwards, relocate occupants to safer landscape to avoid a recurrence of the disaster.

Speaking, the Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District in the State, Alhaji Muhammed Sani Musa also sympathised with the victims he sponsored a National Land Drainage bill in the upper legislative chamber to proffer solutions to flooding in the country. The governor , thereafter visited the Sarkin Zazzau Suleja, Alhaji Awwal Ibrahim at his palace, where he commiserated with him over the disaster and intimated him on the measures to be adopted to curb the menace.
