A two-storey building housing a hotel on Bamgbose Street, Lagos Island, was on Wednesday gutted by fire.

It was gathered that the fire started from a split air conditioner in one of the rooms when power supply was restored.Our correspondent learnt that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service responded to the incident.

The cause of the inferno, which started from one of the rooms on the fourth floor of the hotel, could not yet be ascertained.PUNCH MetroConfirming both incidents, the Public Relations Officer of LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor, said no life was lost.All rights reserved.
