FIFA President Infantino Faces Swiss Criminal Probe

RHONA WISE / AFP.A Swiss special prosecutor has launched criminal proceedings against FIFA president Gianni Infantino, authorities in Switzerland said Thursday, as part of an investigation into suspected collusion between him and the country’s Attorney General, Michael Lauber.

“FIFA officials have met with prosecutors in other jurisdictions across the world for exactly these purposes. Lauber, 54, has denied accusations that he lied about the meetings but is also under criminal investigation.
