The Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Ekperikpe Ekpo has warned contractors handling the 614-kilometer Ajaokuta, Kaduna, Kano gas pipelines project against defaulting on the promised July/August 2024 completion deadline.
In a statement on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Minister, Louis Ibah, said the deadline was issued while the minister was on a tour of the project on Thursday. The minister lamented the slow pace of work and demanded from the contractor handling segment one of the projects when the project would be completed. 'The July and August deadlines should be sacrosanct, and there should be no excuse; that is what we are going to look at,' Ekpo stated.
recalls that the AKK gas pipeline project construction commenced in July 2020 with an expected completion in 2022.
