The truth is that we are hypocrites. When you teach a child from the youthful age that killing someone who is not of your religion is not a sin, you have sent a wrong signal into that child’s psyche from that youthful age. When the child goes about killing people who are not in his religious circle and they are not arrested, others will see it as the norm. In order to stop this, we must ensure that everyone is compelled to obey the same rule.
