The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) says the second batch of evacuated Nigerians from Sudan will arrive in the country on Thursday.

The commission made the announcement in a tweet a few hours ago but didn’t state the exact time the evacuees would arrive in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The Nigerian embassy in Sudan said it would commence the second phase of the evacuation of nationals in the country onHY Garko, the charge d’affaires, said interested Nigerians would be evacuated to Egypt for onward airlift to Nigeria tomorrow. TheCable understands that 95 Nigerian students have been moved from Wadi Halfa to the Egyptian side of the border and would be evacuated by the Azman aircraft alongside other students who have already been processed.

The rest of the students waiting at the two border crossings would reportedly be evacuated by Friday, barring any hitches.
