Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), is more determined than ever to ensure the country remains one.
He said, “There is a need to place the unity of the nation above selfish/sectional interests by guarding our utterances and being accommodating to our diversity and“We need to blur the lines across ethnic and religious divides through messages of tolerance for peace, unity, and progress of the country. This administration is determined more than ever to strengthen and promote the oneness and indivisibility of Nigeria because the strength of this great nation lies in our diversity.
“The first stanza of the national anthem says ‘the labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain’ cannot be overemphasised, and this is why we cherish the memory of these fallen heroes who planted the seeds of unity, peace and progress particularly those who made the supreme sacrifice before our independence during the First and Second World Wars and also in the unfortunate Civil War that followed.”All rights reserved.
