Asked on Saturday to state when the programme would commence, the minister said, “By next week we are going to start off with the FCT , Lagos and Ogun states, then Kano. Umar-Farouq had earlier said food ration would be distributed door-to-door, with vouchers allocated at specific collection times to avoid overcrowding.Asked to state the number of collection centres where beneficiaries would pick up their vouchers, the minister said, “We are reaching out to 3.1 million households.
She said, “We are here today to start the distribution of relief items to beneficiaries. We have chosen to commence this here because Karimajiji represents one of the most organised and recognised communities of persons with special needs.
