FG begins COP29 preparation, calls for stakeholders' collaboration on Nigeria's environmental goals
Balarabe Lawal, minister of environment, says ahead of the 29th session of the United Nations climate change conference in November, it is imperative that stakeholders collaborate to advance Nigeria’s environmental goals.
He said there is need for stakeholders to collectively identify and prioritise key areas that will drive Nigeria’s environment agenda in the future.“This gathering symbolises our shared commitment to confronting one of the greatest challenges of our time which is climate change,” Lawal said. “COP 28 reaffirmed our collective determination to tackle the existential threat caused by climate change. The outcomes of COP28 have far-reaching implications for the future of our planet.”
