As the golf world's rich are set to get richer this weekend it poses the question: Is it incumbent on golf's decision makers to spread some of that money into other parts of the game, including Australia's tour, which has been described as 'inept'?

Allen proposed hosting a World Golf Championship event or similarly high-profile PGA Tour tournament in Australia to attract stars, with the Australian Open or Masters hosted soon after, encouraging the big names to stick around.
