The Nation Newspaper Fed Govt eyes N2b from gaming, lottery

to generate over N2 billion yearly as revenue from licences and others from businesses in the lottery and gaming sector.

He said: “We all know that Nigeria’s gaming industry has evolved tremendously as the world is now a Global Village. In light of this, I am using this occasion to address the issue of the dichotomy of regulators. Please note that the Federal Ministry of Special Duties is aware that the principal cause of friction between the federal and state regulators is revenue.’’

He said: “The gaming sector, we believe, holds the key to economic growth and is a potent tool for addressing the pressing issues of unemployment and low per capita income. Nigeria, our beloved nation, is teeming with untapped potential, and its most precious resource is our population. Our aspirations are firmly grounded in the power of innovation within the gaming industry, as it provides a gateway to create employment opportunities and, inevitably, wealth creation.
