Fasanmi’s death a national loss – APC
The ruling All Progressives Congress has described the late Senator Ayo Fasanmi as one of the few national leaders who spoke truth to power at all times.
The party in a condolence message signed by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena in Abuja on Thursday said the death of the leader of Afenifere, Egbe Ilosiwaju Yoruba and a chieftain of the governing party’ was a colossal loss to the country. In the statement, the party said, “the Yorubas and indeed the nation at large have lost a father to all, elder statesman, welfarist, second Republic Senator and frontline politician whose indelible strides will be forever remembered.
“Although born in Ekiti state, he chose to make Osun state home. The APC expresses condolences to the immediate family, the government and people of Ekiti and Ondo states and the Yoruba nation at large. “We pray for fortitude to bear the loss. The task before us now is to keep his legacies alive,” the statement concluded.
