The family of the Divisional Police Officer of the Ilemba-Hausa Division, Yahaya Adesina, who was accused of shooting dead one of the personnel attached to the station, Sergeant Onajide Onalaja, has u
rged the Lagos State Police Command to investigate the incident thoroughly.had reported that Onalaja’s family accused Adesina of killing the cop and allegedly taking steps to conceal the crime.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, had said two persons, Kehinde Elijah, 45, and Ezeh Joseph, whom he described as fake/deserted soldiers, were arrested in connection with Onalaja’s death, adding that investigation was ongoing. Elkana added that the DPO had been arrested and was being detained at the SCIID, while his rifle was also retrieved.
The family’s spokesman, Isiaka Ibrahim, who described Adesina as a dedicated and decent officer, stated that he could not have killed the sergeant.
