The family members of a generator technician, Bakare Idris Demola, who was shot dead by the Nigerian Police in Oregun, Ikeja area, have demanded that the police release the corpse of their son and also ensure that justice is served. A police officer identified as Kabiru Odejimi had allegedly shot dead Bakare Idris. SaharaReporters gathered that the incident occurred in Oregon area of Ikeja on Sunday night.

Family Kicks As Nigerian Police Refuse To Release Corpse Of Man Killed By Trigger-Happy Police Officer In LagosThe family members of a generator technician, Bakare Idris Demola, who was shot dead by the Nigerian Police in Oregun, Ikeja area, have demanded that the police release the corpse of their son and also ensure that justice is served.SaharaReporters gathered that the incident occurred in Oregon area of Ikeja on Sunday night.

The family member explained that the police officer that shot Idris was not on duty when the act was carried out, noting that the policeman always came around to harass and torment people in the area. "He noted that it was Kabiru at a bus stop pursuing people. When he got to some steps to enter his house, he heard another gunshot again. The second shot was a straight one.

"He later discovered it was a bullet wound; we rushed him to a nearby clinic for first aid but the policeman came and threatened everyone of us with a gun while he took Idris in his bus and they went away.
