Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has singled out two players for praise after Manchester City defeated Manchester United in Saturday’s FA Cup final.Ilkay Gundogan’s two goals ensured Pep Guardiola’s side defeated Man United as Bruno Fernandes’ penalty was not enough for the Red Devils.
In a tweet via his Twitter handle, Carragher said that Gundogan would be remembered as the match-winner in the FA Cup, adding that John Stones’ performance was sensational. He tweeted, “Ilkay Gundogan will be remembered as the match winner, but John Stones’s performance was sensational!“I can only ever remember watching Sammer/Matthaus do it for Germany, but they were sweepers in a back three, which was stepping in with the ball more than it was receiving it like a conventional midfielder.”
