FA Cup fifth round: Mourinho claims Tottenham didn’t deserve to qualify
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho, has admitted the “best team lost” following their 3-2 win over Southampton in the FA Cup on Wednesday night.Spurs took the lead through a Jack Stephens’ own goal, before the visitors scored twice through Shane Long and Danny Ings.Speaking to the media after the game, Mourinho admitted his players were suffering from fatigue.
“Lots of fatigue from the City match. If you analyse in a simple, pragmatic way, the best team lost. They were better than us.“I had to manage this chess game without pieces. No bishops, no kings, no queens. Very, very hard with so many injuries and problems. No Bergwijn. It was very difficult,” he said.
