The Chicago State University (CSU) has locked its official X (previously known as Twitter) account amid criticism over the academic records of President Bola Tinubu.
The ‘protect your posts’ feature on X allows users to conceal their contents from persons who are not followers.
CSU’s decision comes on the heels of a barrage of criticisms from Nigerians over the non-release of Tinubu’s academic records. Tinubu’s credentials show that he graduated from CSU in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting and management. However, there have been allegations bordering on discrepancies with Tinubu’s certificate.
Recently, Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party , approached a US court for the northern district of Illinois in Chicago, for an order compelling CSU to release the academic records of Tinubu. The president, through his counsel, had filed a counter application opposing the request for the release of his academic records.Amid the legal disputes, many Nigerians took to social media platforms to accuse the US university of conniving with Tinubu to conceal the records.Advertisement
