The former senator had filed multiple cases in court to challenge the outcome of the primary election and declaration of Obong Akan Udofia, a business mogul, as the governorship candidate of the APC in Akwa Ibom State.

But in a major twist of events, findings by SaharaReporters showed that the Certified True Copies of court documents revealed that Senator Ita Enang made false depositions in his applications.
However, in an affidavit supporting his motion to be joined as a necessary party, dated October 12, 2022, before the Federal High Court in Abuja, Mr. Enang deposed that he was invited and appeared in person before the committee.
