EXCLUSIVE: 200 Nigerians for evacuation from South Africa on Thursday - They are to pay $840 for economy class and $1350 for business class.

Barring any last minute change of plans, no fewer than 200 Nigerians stranded in South Africa will be evacuated on Thursday,The evacuation is expected to be carried out by a local airline, Air Peace,Over 4,000 Nigerians are stranded in various countries as a result of global lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Confirming the Thursday evacuation arrangement, the Nigerian Ambassador to South Africa, Ambassador Kabiru Bala toldBala however said there were some outstanding logistics that have to be addressed.He said: “We are working towards the evacuation on Thursday. A max of 200. Payments are being made by the evacuees. There are outstanding logistics. We are however hopeful all arrangements will be on the uptick.

The new arrangement stipulates that intending evacuees are to be tested five and nine days to departure while those who test positive will not be allowed to board.
