Pupils and management of Ikenegbu Girls Secondary School, Owerri, were, yesterday, excited over the donation of a six-room toilet to improve hygiene and sanitation in the school.
Expressing excitement at the commissioning on behalf of the school, the Principal , Mrs. Abigail Nwaimo, said the management and the students were encouraged by the gesture.
She thanked Access Bank for the gesture, hinting that an official in charge of the Parents Teachers Association/Sanitation had been directed to ensure proper maintenance of the toilet at all times.
He noted that the financial institution had extended financial literacy partnerships with the National Youth Service Corps , entrepreneurship, and skills acquisition seminars, digital internship, formal and informal education to other individuals and bodies.He advised the institution’s management to ensure proper use and maintenance of the 4,000-capacity-tank bore hole sunk and reticulated by the bank for the school.
Also, the SEMB Executive Director, Nwanebo, said the state government was excited by the assistance, promising to enhance the relationship with Access Bank Plc.The event was attended by the Executive Director, Secondary Education Management Board , Dr. Adaugo Thecla Nwnebo; General Manager, Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission , and Dr. McDonald Ebere, among others.
