Ex-convict to spend 10 years in jail for stealing foodstuff in Ogun

One Mr. Ayinde Semiu has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for stealing foodstuff in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.Semiu was said to have broken into two shops, stealing foodstuff worth N77,850.

The Magistrate, Mrs I.O Abudu, sentenced the convict to jail as after pleaded guilty to the six-count charge bordering on burglary and stealing. Earlier, the Prosecutor, Inspector Abolade Bukola, had told the court that the convict committed the offences on Monday, about 2.30 am at Elega area of Abeokuta.

Bukola told the court that Semiu had burgled two shops, made away with foodstuffs and money, belonging to one Mrs Koleosho Mariam and Mrs Aremu Omolara.
