Roma manager, Jose Mourinho has explained why he got rid of his runners-up medal after losing 4-1 on penalties to Sevilla in the Europa League final.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss was the first man to pick up his medal during the presentation but ended up handing it over to a fan in the crowd.“I don’t keep silver medals, so I gave it away,” Mourinho told Movistar.
This is the first European final that Mourinho has lost, having previously won five with FC Porto, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Roma.
