Former England international, Carlton Palmer has raised some concerns about Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw. He raised the concerns ahead of coach Gareth Southgate announcing his England squad for the EUROs.
Shaw has remained one of the key players at Manchester United since he joined the club, but injuries have seen the England international struggle to reach the heights of his prowess. He joined the club during the 2014-15 transfer window and has featured in over 30 Premier League games in a season just once. Shaw has only played just 12 league appearances this season.
He has been a part of the England squad since 2014, playing five games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. But Carlton Palmer does not think that the Manchester United defender should play for England. He said, in an interview with The World Class Stamp Podcast, “I think we have an issue at left-back. 'I’m not a Luke Shaw fan. I think he’s a good footballer, but he’s a poor defender. 'Shaw on that side with Maguire, it doesn’t work for me.
