The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has said the establishment of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) across the country would end banditry, kidnapping and other criminalities. Egbetokun also said that all the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force would be attending a minimum of one week training to enhance their performance.

Egbetokun said this in Bauchi on Thursday when he visited the state on a working visit, adding that he wants a police force that all officers would be proud of. He had earlier last month announced that the SIS will be launched in 10 pilot states, adding that it would address the recent surge in kidnapping, killings and other activities of bandits across the country.
