Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has claimed Mikel Arteta won’t win the Premier League title with Arsenal, because he has to break into a group of elite managers.
Neville was speaking on Sky Sports after the Gunners went eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City, with a 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. He listed the managers as Antonio Conte , Jurgen Klopp , Carlo Ancelotti , Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho . “I think for Mikel Arteta, it’s so difficult for young managers to break that [Antonio] Conte, [Jurgen] Klopp, [Carlo] Ancelotti, [Pep] Guardiola, [Jose] Mourinho mould and become one of those super managers. You can’t break them.“He’s doing it anyway, because his football is fantastic. But he needs to win that trophy. A Champions League, a Premier League, they are the super managers, the ones that win those trophies,” Neville said.
Arteta has already won the FA Cup and Community Shield during his three-year spell in charge of Arsenal.
