EPL: Why Ighalo can’t replace Rashford, Martial in Man Utd’s starting line-up – Amokachi
Daniel Amokachi, a former Super Eagles forward has pointed out why Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo can’t replace Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in Manchester United’s starting line-up.
Amokachi disclosed that Ighalo can’t replace Rashford and Martial because United bought him as a backup striker.Amokachi stated that with Rashford’s return from injury, Ighalo who once played for Watford will remain on the bench. He said: “Manchester United brought in Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua as a back up to then injured Rashford. Now, Rashford is back from injury and so Ighalo has to take a back seat again.“We cannot expect him to have more playing time than the likes of Rashford and Anthony Martial because he is only a back up there.”
Since joining Manchester United from Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua, the former Super Eagles player has scored five goals and provided one assist in all competition.
