Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has called on head coach Erik ten Hag to make maximum use of the pace of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund in their upcoming clash against Liverpool.
The Norwegian believed Liverpool 's midfield can be pulled out of position, leaving United's pacey attackers to exploit the space and launch a devastating counter-attack. Speaking ahead of the match, Solskjaer acknowledged the high-intensity style of play Liverpool is known for, but he also pointed out their vulnerability when the ball is lost due to the absence of Roberto Firmino, the club's former false nine.
With Bruno Fernandes expected to have more time on the ball, Solskjaer is confident that United can repeat their previous success against their rivals by playing a counter-attacking style of football. 'With Jurgen, you know what is coming but it is so hard to play against,' Solskjaer told The Athletic. 'But now, with no Firmino, the front three can be out of the game when the ball is lost because there’s no false nine.
